MEDLAB 2017 a success for PerkinElmer

Newborn screening solutions showcased at MEDLAB

PerkinElmer took part in MEDLAB, the largest laboratory show in the world, held 6–9 February in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In collaboration with HVD, our distributor in the Middle East, we showcased the benefits of our diagnostics solutions, with special emphasis on newborn screening, including MSMS solutions and Specimen Gate® software. This was the 26th time PerkinElmer and HVD exhibited together at the event.

Our aim was to improve the adoption of newborn screening practices in Middle Eastern countries, in order for more children born with a rare disorder to have a chance at a normal life. To this end, HVD was able to start two newborn screening national programs in Jordan and Malta.

MEDLAB played host to over 30,000 professionals and 700 exhibitors dedicated to sharing the latest laboratory management and diagnostics technologies available to the market worldwide. PerkinElmer’s stand received a good number of visitors for discussions or product demos, including notable guest of honor Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, UAE Minister of Health.

All in all, the event was a success, and we will be back at MEDLAB again next year..
