This kit is intended for the quantitative determination of phenylalanine concentrations in blood specimens dried on filter paper as an aid in screening newborns for phenylketonuria by using the GSP instrument.

In the first reaction of GSP Neonatal Phenylalanine assay, phenylalanine dehydrogenase converts phenylalanine in sample to phenylpyruvate generating NADH. In the presence of NADH, resazuring dye is reduced to fluo- For G6PD deficiency.
